Location: Chinderah - Altona Road
Pay Rate: From $51.70 per hour + super
Contract: 12-month casual assignment
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

The Opportunity

Spinifex Recruiting is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician to join Tweed Shire Council's Water Division on a 12-month casual contract.

Based at Council's Altona Road facility in Chinderah, this role will be working within the Water and Wastewater division, supporting the electrical maintenance and operation of Council's water and wastewater infrastructure.

This is a great opportunity for a qualified electrician with strong industrial experience who is looking for a longer-term local assignment with Council.

For the right person, the pay rate may be negotiable depending on your level of industrial experience, qualifications and suitability for the role.

About the Role

Working as part of the Water Division, your role will involve electrical maintenance, fault finding and repairs across water and wastewater infrastructure.

Duties may include:

• Electrical maintenance, repairs and fault finding
• Preventative and reactive maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure
• Working with pumps, motors and associated electrical equipment
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults
• Testing, inspecting and maintaining electrical systems and equipment
• Supporting the operation and maintenance of Council's water and wastewater assets
• Working alongside other trades and Council teams to complete maintenance and repair works
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant standards and procedures
• Maintaining accurate records and completing relevant documentation

About You

We are looking for a fully qualified Electrician with strong industrial experience who can work confidently and independently.

Experience within water, wastewater, utilities, manufacturing or similar industrial environments would be highly regarded.

You will ideally have:

• Current NSW Electrical Licence
• Demonstrated industrial electrical experience
• Experience working with pumps, motors and electrical control systems
• Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport
• Water, wastewater, utilities or local government experience will be highly regarded
