Job summary

The Weir Group in Kalgoorlie, WA is seeking a hands-on Blaster and Painter to support mechanical trades and apply protective coatings to tanks, structures and piping. You will work onsite with a focus on safety, quality, and efficient workshop practices while maintaining a clean work environment.

Ideal candidates have experience in industrial painting, abrasive blasting, surface prep, and protective coatings, and are physically fit for daily manual tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial painting and protective coatings
• Ability to read safety rules and procedures
• Physically fit for manual work and lifting up to 20 kg

Responsibilities

• Apply protective coatings including blasting, water cleaning, painting, and lining to equipment
• Assist mechanical tradespersons on sites and in workshop
• Inspect coatings and ensure quality and safety standards
• Maintain a safe, clean workshop and proper housekeeping
• Operate tools and equipment safely and ensure supplies are maintained
