Job summary

Queensland Government's Daintree National Park team is seeking an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Ranger to protect natural and cultural values and help visitors safely enjoy one of Queensland's most significant landscapes.

You'll lead and coordinate a diverse field program, contribute to fire, pest and visitor management, supervise staff and volunteers, and engage with Traditional Owners and partners to deliver conservation outcomes.

Qualifications

• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identification in recruitment.
• Ability to lead field programs and supervise teams.
• Experience in outdoor park settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate a diverse work program across the Daintree CYPAL - Diwan Management Unit.
• Contribute to fire management, weed and pest control, and visitor management.
• Support staff, students and volunteers and foster a safety-focused team culture.
• Engage with visitors, Traditional Owners and stakeholders and maintain positive relationships.
• Contribute to emergency response activities and park planning/reporting.
