Job summary

ALO is seeking an Operations Lead to drive profitability and efficiency in our Sydney store. You will lead inventory, oversee shipments and floor replenishment, and partner with Visual and Store Managers to execute business directives.

This role requires hands-on leadership on the sales floor and in the back of house. You will manage an Operations Associate team, recruit and develop talent, and use performance tools to coach for growth while maintaining strong visual standards and a safe,

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a client-centric, sales environment.
• Proven leadership with strong decision making.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute inventory management processes with focus on accuracy and reducing shrink.
• Investigate and root cause inventory accuracy issues, partnering with the GM to upscale processes.
• Manage execution of key operations functions: shipment, receiving, processing, reverses transfers, replenishment, floor set updates, and supply management.
• Champion strong visual standards for the sales floor.
• Support safe work environment and efficient operation through stockroom standards and processes.
• Partner with Operations & Visual Managers to manage reporting, budgets, expenses, inventory control, supplies, vendor relationships, technology, and facilities.
• Demonstrate strong business acumen by leveraging metrics to support strategies.
• Move dynamically on the retail floor to assess and fulfill needs of business, team and guests.
• Leads by example and inspires staff in daily operations and guest experience.
• Directly oversee Operations Associates; responsible for recruitment and development of talent.
• Use company performance tools to evaluate each operations associate and provide feedback to drive growth.
• Collaborate with Visual Lead for cross-functional training and with Sales & Service Lead for execution.
• Execute company-level directives, projects and initiatives to achieve goals and KPIs.
• Open and close the store in accordance with back-of-house standards.

OBJECTIVE

The Operations Lead is a member of the store leadership team and is responsible for driving and coaching to profitability and efficiency. The Operations Lead will work closely with Operations & Visual Managers in initiating, delegating work, and providing feedback to the team to achieve optimal results supporting total store operations. Duties require constant movement in and around the store, including the sales floor and back of house. When not actively assisting guests, this position takes initiative to perform other tasks, as needed, to keep store clean, safe, inviting and operating efficiently.

Operations Leader

• Lead & execute inventory management processes effectively with a focus on maximizing inventory accuracy and reducing shrink
• Investigate and root cause inventory accuracy issues, partnering with the General Manager to upscale process or system gaps
• Manage execution of key operational functions including shipment, receiving and processing, reverse transfers, sales floor recovery, intra-day sales floor replenishment, floor set updates, and supply management
• Champion strong visual standards for the sales floor
• Support a safe work environment and efficient operation through strong stockroom standards and processes

Business Leader

• Partner with Operations & Visual Managers to manage reporting, budgets, expenses, inventory control, supplies, vendor relationships, technology, and facilities to ensure maintained and maximized
• Demonstrate strong business acumen by leveraging metrics to support business-driving strategies
• Move dynamically on the retail floor to assess and fulfill the needs of the business, team and guests

People Leader

• Leads by example and inspires staff in daily operations and guest experience.
• Directly oversee the Operations Associates; responsible for recruitment and development of talent
• Use company performance tools to evaluate each operations associate and provide constant feedback to drive individual growth and improvement in partnership with the store leader

Flow Experience Leader

• Collaborate with Visual Lead to ensure cross-functional training, and Sales & Service Lead to ensure the business is well‑executed
• Execute company‑level operation‑focused directives, projects and initiatives, in partnership with management team, to achieve goals & KPI’s
• Opens and closes the store in accordance with back of house (BOH) standards

OPERATIONS LEAD QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ Years prior work experience in a client‑centric, sales environment
• Proven leadership capabilities demonstrating excellent decision making
• Values feedback, receptive to receiving feedback and eager to provide
• Self‑motivated with a desire to achieve results and excel individually, and as a team
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
• Aligns with and embodies ALO’s Guiding Principles
• Requires constant movement in and around all areas of store
• Ability to lift, push, carry or otherwise move up to 10-15KG pounds
• Ability to lift, bend, kneel, climb, crawl and/or twist, and safely climb up/down a ladder
