Job summary

Dandenong and District Aborigines Cooperative in Cranbourne, VIC, is seeking an in-home support worker to help older Aboriginal people stay safe, independent and connected to their community.

You will perform domestic tasks, meals, transport, companionship and basic personal care, with training provided; a strong emphasis on cultural respect, safety, and working within aged care and disability guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic cleaning, housekeeping or hospitality.
• Experience in home care, disability or aged care.
• Certificate III in Individual Support (desirable, not essential).

Responsibilities

• Domestic cleaning and household tasks
• Meal preparation and shopping
• Social support and companionship
• Transport to appointments and community activities
• Basic personal care (training provided)
• Record services provided and report concerns
• Model and abide by DDACL Values, Code of Conduct and Policy and Procedures
• Participate actively in and facilitate supervision and professional development activities
• Ensure participation in team meetings, staff meetings and other community activities as requested
• Ensure that you adhere to Aged Care and Disability legislative requirements
