Job summary

Claro Disability Services in Gippsland region seeks dedicated carers to support people with complex needs, promoting independence and meaningful daily living. You’ll work closely with clients, families, and healthcare teams to tailor supports to goals and routines.

Shifts are daytime and vary by client, requiring compassionate communication, reliability, and a strong safety focus. A current Australian driver’s license and vehicle are preferred for travel between clients.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering person-centered supports to clients with complex needs.
• Strong communication and attentive listening.
• Reliable, patient and able to adapt to changing shifts.
• Valid Australian driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Willingness to work across Gippsland with families and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Person-centered planning: Chat with the client (and family/advocates), get to know them and understanding of goals and routines.
• Complex physical care: Help with mobility, transfers, positioning, daily tasks, and devices as outlined in the plan.
• Medical supports: Watch for changes, follow med/clinical plans, and liaise with the care team if things shift.
• Social time and participation: Bring meaning, fun, and community access aligned with interests.
• Autonomy and advocacy: Support decision-making, respect consent, boost independence where possible.
• Cultural humility: Respect backgrounds, beliefs, and ways of being
