Job summary

IKEA Food Co-worker in Adelaide is a permanent part-time role with 40 hours per fortnight, offering a base hourly pay rate with penalties for weekends and late nights. The role covers food preparation, customer service, and maintaining a clean, welcoming dining area in a busy store environment.

As part of a team, you will handle cash, assist in the restaurant, and follow strict food safety standards while supporting a rotating schedule across day and evening shifts, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Able to follow strict IKEA Food and HACCP policies and daily operational routines around quality and food safety.
• Experience in fast-paced, hands-on hospitality environments is highly regarded.
• Enthusiastic about working within a team of like-minded people.
• Availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Commercial: Food preparation and customer service with focus on food safety, waste control and meeting production levels.
• Operations: Ensure area is clean, organized, attractive and inviting for a positive customer experience; operate ovens & fryers; support kitchen and restaurant cleanliness.

Additional information:

• These roles are permanent part time, 40 hours per/fortnight.
• As our store operates 7 days per week, you must have the availability to work a rotating roster with a mix of day and evening shifts. You also have the availability to work 3 out of 4 weekends in a month (both Saturday and Sunday).

ABOUT THIS WORK AREA

As an IKEA Food Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Commercial:

• Ensuring your area is efficiently maintained in compliance with Food standards by keeping it clean, organised, attractive and inviting to provide a positive customer experience.
• Food preparation and customer service with a focus on food safety, controlling waste, and following production levels.
• Clearing tables, wiping down benchtops and stocktake.
• Active selling, cash handling and customer service.

Operations:

• Ensuring your area is efficiently maintained in compliance with Food standards by keeping it clean, organised, attractive and inviting to provide a positive customer experience.
• Food preparation, cooking, serving and customer service with a focus on food safety, controlling waste, and following production levels and cooking methods.
• Processing dishes and maintaining the washing up area and machines whilst supporting and maintaining the cleanliness of the customer restaurant.
• Active selling, cash handling, operation of ovens & fryers.

As an IKEA Food Co-worker you are:

• Passionate, committed, and have a love for food in its quality and presentation.
• Experienced with working in a fast paced, hands-on environment. Previous hospitality and cookery experience is highly regarded.
• Enthusiastic about working within a team of like-minded people.
• Able to follow strict IKEA Food and HACCP policies and daily operational routines around quality and food safety, including temperature and date checks.
