Job summary

Commonwealth Bank in Sydney is seeking a Chapter Lead for Identity Services to coach engineers, shape practices, and lift chapter capability. This role blends leadership with hands-on technology guidance, including IAM, Entra, and security-focused delivery.

You will drive DevSecOps, CI/CD, and automation, partner across multiple locations and time zones, and apply AI tooling to design, test, and operate identity solutions. Flexible/hybrid work arrangements are available to support delivery.

Qualifications

• Leadership of an engineering chapter including hiring, onboarding, skill building, career development, coaching and performance management.
• Strong knowledge of identity services and IAM principles; familiarity with Active Directory and Entra is expected.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, security-integrated delivery and modern engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Chapter Leadership: Lead the chapter and develop the capability of its members, including hiring, onboarding, skill building, career development, coaching, and performance management.
• Technical Leadership: Provide thought leadership across identity services and modern engineering practices, guiding simple solutions to complex problems and retirement of obsolete systems.
• Engineering Practices and DevSecOps: Set and uplift engineering standards, embedding secure-by-design principles, test automation, and strong CI/CD and pipeline practice.
• Automation and Continuous Improvement: Identify manual effort and process gaps, sponsor automation that simplifies capability builds, onboarding patterns, and production support, using data and feedback with the Chapter Area Lead.
• AI-Enabled Engineering: Apply and promote AI tooling in solution design, development, testing, and operational analysis, guiding responsible adoption.
• Strategic Delivery and Collaboration: Take technical ownership of key initiatives, collaborating across locations and time zones.
