Job summary

Barwon Health invites applications for a 12-month postgraduate ICU program in the Intensive Care Unit, in Geelong. This temporary part-time role offers 64 hours per fortnight and starts January 2027, supported by Barwon Health's Clinical Education Team and collaboration with Deakin University.

The program aims to develop advanced clinical nursing skills, expand critical care knowledge, and provide leadership opportunities within a modern ICU setting.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with minimum of 2 years acute medical and/or surgical nursing experience.
• HDU/ICU and/or Emergency nursing experience desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality and evidence-based care to patients within the Intensive Care Unit.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in collaboration with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team.
• Maintain effective communication and therapeutic relationships with patients, families and healthcare professionals to support positive patient outcomes.
• Contribute to safety, quality improvement, audits and service initiatives within the Intensive Care Unit.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation, professional competence, mandatory training and ongoing continuing professional development.
