Job summary

Cabrini Health is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Assistant to join the Intensive Care Unit at Cabrini Malvern, Melbourne. You will work under the supervision of registered nurses to deliver safe, respectful patient care to critically ill patients and their families.

The role involves shifts across mornings, afternoons, weekends, and public holidays on a rotating roster. Prior acute hospital experience is preferred; health services qualification is required, with salary packaging benefits

Qualifications

• Qualification in Health Services Assistance or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Collaborative mindset within a multidisciplinary team.
• Professionalism and discretion for sensitive situations.
• Previous experience in an acute hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support as directed by the registered nurse.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition.
• Assist with maintaining a clean and comfortable patient environment.
• Respond to patient and family enquiries, escalating as appropriate.
• Uphold patient privacy, dignity and cultural sensitivities.
