Macquarie University Health is seeking experienced Intensive Care/Coronary Care Registered Nurses to join our expanding ICU/CCU. Two permanent full-time positions are available with immediate start, as our unit grows to meet rising demand and advanced procedures across neurosurgery, cardiothoracic and general surgery.

You will deliver expert, evidence-based care for critically ill adults, participate in ongoing education, and mentor junior staff within a research-informed academic environment.

Qualifications

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in an Adult Intensive Care or Coronary Care environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised within ICU/CCU at an advanced clinical level.
• Excellent communication, advocacy, and organisational skills.
• Proficient with electronic medical records systems, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsabilités

• Deliver expert, evidence-based clinical care to critically ill patients across a diverse range of surgical and medical specialities.
• Manage complex patient presentations in a high-acuity environment with increasing procedural scope and patient load.
• Actively participate in and facilitate ongoing learning and development within the unit.
• Mentor and support junior nursing staff and students, fostering an inclusive, nurturing work environment.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centred, coordinated care.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in research activities aligned with our academic mission.
• Work autonomously and within a team to assess, plan and implement preventative and therapeutic care approaches.
