Overview

Our federal Government client is seeking an experienced ICT Senior Support Officer to join their team. This is a fixed term contract until December 2026 with the view of becoming permanent. The role is based in Sydney and will need to be on‑site. The position is open for Australian citizens with the ability to obtain a Baseline Clearance.

Responsibilities

As the ICT Senior Support Officer you will be responsible for front‑facing and onsite support staff for the Sydney office.

  • Provide onsite and remote technical support for all End User Computing (EUC) connected infrastructure (including laptops, printers, mobile/smart phones, tablets) and video conferencing equipment and capabilities. Some examples of products supported are Windows 11, Citrix and Microsoft Office Products and Microsoft Teams.
  • Manage and distribute the physical ICT laptop and desktop fleet, including updating asset registers (ServiceNow).
  • Provide and support for ICT assistive technologies and unified communication (UC) equipment (video conferencing /Teams).
  • Coordinate and facilitate office refits and relocation of the ICT end‑user hardware.
  • Monitor ticket queues for action and triage tickets, ensuring prompt and accurate handling (ServiceNow).
  • Experience supporting end users utilising Citrix and Microsoft Virtual desktops (Cloud based or On‑premise) and administering using Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager or Microsoft Intune would be advantageous.
  • Experience in Desktop management (Group policy, application patching, deployment and management) and work with the EUC Applications Team.
Qualifications
  • Proven ICT technical experience suitable to the role especially in desktop management and application patching.
  • Demonstrated lateral thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • A predisposition to seeking continuous self‑improvement, with a can‑do and think‑outside‑the‑box attitude.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to mentor a junior staff.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant ICT field or equivalent relevant work experience aligned with an onsite support role.
  • Demonstrated ability to use judgement when dealing with challenges involving competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership in fleet management and deployments.
