Job summary

Chandler Macleod Group is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced EL2 Senior Independent Advisor to provide high-level advisory, stakeholder engagement and leadership support within a nationally significant advisory environment. This role offers flexible locations across Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne/Geelong or Brisbane and part-time 0.6 FTE.

The ideal candidate will lead strategic advice, engage diverse stakeholders, mentor a small team and drive continuous improvement on governance

• Extensive experience developing high-quality advisory, policy or strategic documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of strategic advice, reports and briefing materials.
• Work closely with senior leaders, advisory members and stakeholder groups to identify priorities and inform decision-making.
• Facilitate workshops, meetings and consultation activities to gather feedback and insights.
• Undertake research and analysis to support evidence-based recommendations.
• Prepare executive-level papers, submissions and correspondence.
• Coordinate and support the development of annual work plans and strategic priorities.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support and guide advisory members to effectively contribute to discussions and outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, engagement approaches and ways of working.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and supervision to a small team.

Highly Regarded Experience

• Experience preparing advice, submissions or briefing materials for senior executives or government stakeholders.
• Qualifications and/or experience in public policy, social policy, health, community services, research or related disciplines.
• Experience analysing qualitative and quantitative data.
• Strong understanding of governance, consultation and advisory processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
• Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and enhancing team performance.
