Job summary

i-LEC Solutions in Cairns is seeking an experienced Hydrovac Operator for a permanent full-time position focused on hydro-excavation on electrical infrastructure projects. Applicants must be willing to perform civil construction tasks and support vac truck operations as part of a crew.

Essential qualifications include a valid HR license and white card, with proven hydro-vac experience and the ability to safely expose underground utilities. Excavator tickets are highly regarded and advantageous.

Qualifications

• Valid HR license & white card (essential).
• Proven experience as a Hydrovac Operator to perform non-destructive excavation.
• Safely expose underground utilities including pipes and cables.
• Conduct daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance on vac trucks and equipment.
• Support service laying activities as required.
• Strong attention to detail, safety focus and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other crew members.
• Excavator tickets highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Job description

i-LEC is a privately owned North Queensland business, specialising in electrical & civil infrastructure projects including traffic signal/road lighting/ITS construction and maintenance, electrical underground distribution (Ergon UDC), as well as a diverse range of other industrial and commercial electrical and civil works.

We currently have a permanent full time position available for an experienced Hydrovac Operator. Almost all hydro-vac work is Cairns-based, completing hydro-excavation on our electrical infrastructure projects.Applicants must also be willing and able to complete civil construction tasks, in addition to vac truck operating.
