Job summary

WGA is seeking Hydrogeologists across a range of experience levels to join our Water team. Opportunities available in Darwin, Perth and Adelaide, with discussion of alternative locations for the right candidate.

In these roles, you will contribute to, lead, and help shape groundwater and water resource projects across Australia, including planning investigations, aquifer testing, groundwater resource assessments, bore design, modelling, client engagement, and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, Geoscience, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in hydrogeological characterisation and groundwater system conceptualisation.
  • Exposure to hydrogeological investigations, groundwater resource assessments, aquifer testing, bore networks.
  • Experience in production bore design and construction supervision per Australian standards.
  • Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
  • Understanding groundwater legislation, policies, standards relevant to jurisdictions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and develop client relationships.

About Our Role

Our Water team is continuing to grow and to support this growth we are seeking Hydrogeologists across a range of experience levels, from Graduate Hydrogeologists through to Senior Principal Hydrogeologists, to join our innovative group.

With opportunities available in Darwin, Perth and Adelaide, we are also open to discussing alternative locations for the right candidate.

In these roles, you will contribute to, lead, and help shape a diverse range of groundwater and water resource projects across Australia. Depending on your experience level, responsibilities may include planning and coordinating hydrogeological investigations, aquifer testing, groundwater resource assessments, bore condition assessments, production bore design, hydrogeochemical interpretation, conceptual and numerical groundwater modelling, client engagement, project management, and technical leadership.

About You

We welcome applications from candidates at all career stages who are passionate about groundwater science and water resource management. You will ideally possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, Geoscience, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in hydrogeological characterisation, groundwater system conceptualisation, and hydrogeochemical interpretation and analysis.
  • Exposure to hydrogeological investigations, groundwater resource assessments, aquifer testing, and establishing and monitoring bore networks.
  • Experience in production bore design and construction supervision in accordance with Australian standards and guidelines.
  • Strong technical report writing and communication skills.
  • An understanding of groundwater legislation, policies, standards and guidelines relevant to the jurisdictions in which you work.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and develop strong client relationships.

For senior and principal-level positions, additional experience in project management, business development, mentoring, client leadership, and technical governance will be highly regarded.
