Job summary

Northeast Auto Group is seeking a Hydraulic Trades Assistant to join the Burton team, supporting the build and fitment of hydraulic systems and customised truck bodies Australia-wide.

You will assist with installation, read drawings, operate workshop equipment, and uphold safety standards while developing practical hydraulic and fabrication skills in a fast-paced workshop.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Interest or experience in hydraulics, fabrication, or truck body fitment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (desirable).
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
  • Forklift Licence (desirable).
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and develop new skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the fitment and installation of hydraulic systems and components.
  • Supporting the build and fitment of tippers, bin lifts, water carts, and related equipment.
  • Assisting with hydraulic hose fitment, pumps, valves, cylinders, and mounted components.
  • Supporting fabrication, assembly, drilling, grinding, and general workshop duties.
  • Assisting qualified tradespeople in all aspects of their duties.
  • Operating and maintaining tools, machinery, and workshop equipment.
  • Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean working environment.
  • Performing quality checks and reporting issues appropriately.
  • Supporting with general labouring tasks as required.

Northeast Engineering is seeking skilled Hydraulic Trades Assistants to join our dynamic Burton team, supporting the build and fitment of high-quality customised truck bodies and hydraulic systems for clients across Australia.

About The Role

As a Hydraulic Trades Assistant your primary focus is assisting qualified tradespeople with the fabrication, fitment, and installation of hydraulic systems, truck bodies, and accessories.

Key responsibilities
  • Assisting with the fitment and installation of hydraulic systems and components
  • Supporting the build and fitment of tippers, bin lifts, water carts, and related equipment
  • Assisting with hydraulic hose fitment, pumps, valves, cylinders, and custom mounted components
  • Supporting fabrication, assembly, drilling, grinding, and general workshop dutiesAssisting qualified tradespeople in all aspects of their duties
  • Operating and maintaining tools, machinery, and workshop equipment
  • Following safety protocols and maintaining a clean working environment
  • Performing quality checks and reporting issues appropriately

About You
