Job summary

Randstad is recruiting a Payroll Lead/SME for a VIC government agency in Melbourne CBD on a 12-month contract with possible extensions. The role requires expertise in end-to-end payroll processing for around 500 staff, complex payroll scenarios, and strong compliance with modern awards and statutory reporting.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with ADP payroll system (Essential).
• Proficiency in undertaking employee pay audits.
• Experience and knowledge around payroll remediation projects.
• Previous payroll leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Payroll Management: payroll processing for ~500 employees.
• Complex Payroll Processing: overtime, allowances, penalties.
• Payroll Reconciliations & Payment Runs: regular reconciliations and payments.
• System Integrity & Reporting: maintain data integrity and reports.
• Issue Resolution & Query Management: resolve complex payroll queries.
• Statutory Reporting & Submissions: STP, superannuation, PAYG.
• Legislative & Award Compliance: Fair Work Act and awards compliance.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: partner with HR and operations.
• Governance & Internal Controls: payroll governance and controls.
• Payroll Remediation: lead remediation and back-pay assessments.
• Team Guidance & Mentorship: training and guidance to payroll team.
