Job summary

Michael Page in Sydney is seeking a Management Accountant to join a high-performing finance team within a supportive environment. The role focuses on manufacturing costing, BOMs, inventory transactions, variances, and financial controls, with a view to driving process improvements.

The successful candidate will have a degree in accounting/finance, CPA/CA, SAP experience, and strong analytical skills, with experience in manufacturing or related industries.

Qualifications

• A degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system.
• Professional accreditation such as CPA or CA.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a similar role within manufacturing or an adjacent industry.
• Experience with inventory accounting, product costing.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills to work effectively with stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyse manufacturing BOMs and costing structures to ensure accuracy and alignment with business requirements.
• Monitoring inventory transactions, stock movements and cycle counts, including investigation and reporting of variances.
• Analyse manufacturing, purchase price and inventory variances, providing insights and recommendations to management.
• Manage inventory adjustments, write-offs, ageing and obsolescence provisions in line with company policies and accounting standards.
• Provide inventory, costing and financial analysis to support manufacturing programs, projects and financial controls.
• Monthly management and board reporting and presentations.
• Support new manufacturing projects, systems and process improvement initiatives.
• Assist with audit and tax requirements, including preparation of supporting documentation.
