Job summary

Mercer seeks an Analyst – Investment Performance and Regulatory Reporting to join in Melbourne or Sydney on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Qualifications

• High attention to detail with audit-ready outputs under deadline pressure.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (Power Query, VBA) and SQL for data extraction.
• Strong understanding of asset classes, benchmarks, attribution and risk metrics.
• Tertiary qualification in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or related.
• 3–5 years’ experience in investment performance reporting, fund operations, or financial data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the investment performance system; ensure data integrity.
• Run data quality checks and resolve discrepancies.
• Collate datasets and document data definitions and methods.
• Support benchmark indices and composite calculations.
• Assist attribution analysis to decompose performance.
• Coordinate with custodians, vendors and fund accounting for submissions.
• Explain investment outcomes to non-technical stakeholders.
• Handle ad hoc data requests and present insights.
• Identify automation opportunities to improve data sourcing.
• Support audits with documentation and reconciliations.
• Contribute to projects on system upgrades and data warehousing.
