Job summary

Unitywater is seeking a collaborative GIS Officer to maintain and enhance spatial datasets and provide reliable analyses to support infrastructure planning, asset management, and operations across the network.

You will work with internal stakeholders, developers, and partners to ensure accurate capture and integration of asset information within GIS and asset management systems. A proactive approach to improvement and innovation is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Geographic Information Systems, Spatial Science or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience in spatial data management in a complex operational environment.
• Strong proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS products and spatial data management practices.
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, design plans and AutoCAD outputs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and innovation.
• Current C Class Driver Licence.
• Experience in water utilities and/or programming with Python or FME is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance Unitywater's GIS and spatial datasets, ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Provide spatial analysis, mapping products and insights to support planning, project delivery, asset management and operations.
• Manage capture, validation and integration of asset information across GIS and asset management systems.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet spatial information requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of GIS processes, systems, integrations and automation opportunities.
• Provide guidance and support to users of spatial information systems and asset recording tools.
