Job summary

Newcomb Smiles Dental Clinic in Geelong is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant who can also handle front‑of‑house reception from day one. You will move between clinical support and patient‑facing admin as needed, with genuine room to take on more responsibility as the practice grows.

The ideal candidate has Certificate III/IV in Dental Assisting and proven experience in both roles, including familiarity with dental software.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Dental Assisting required or highly regarded.
• Experience as a dental assistant and front desk/reception in a dental or allied health setting is essential.
• Ability to work independently across both roles without on‑the‑job training.
• Familiarity with dental practice management software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Chairside assisting: infection control, instrument preparation and sterilisation, patient preparation.
• Reception: appointment scheduling, patient check‑in/out, phone and email enquiries.
• Processing payments and health fund claims.
• Maintaining smooth patient flow between clinical and front‑of‑house sides of the practice.
• Supporting the day‑to‑day running of a small, growing clinic.
