Job summary

Multicultural NSW in Parramatta is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist for a temporary full-time role up to 12 months to strengthen cyber security capability and align technology initiatives with business priorities. You will provide trusted advice on security risks and compliance to protect information assets while enabling secure business outcomes.

The role reports across the organisation, with hybrid work arrangements and a Clerk Grade 9/10 salary band.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in cyber security or equivalent experience.
• Experience in security risk, compliance, incident response and cyber security operations.
• Knowledge of recognised security frameworks, standards and best practices.
• Ability to assess risks, prioritise issues and provide practical business-focused solutions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication; explain technical concepts in plain language.
• Sound judgement and resilience in a dynamic environment.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, GIAC or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cyber security risks, threats and alerts.
• Coordinate incident response and remediation activities.
• Maintain security policies, standards and compliance requirements.
• Assess security risks and provide practical recommendations.
• Review vendor solutions and technology initiatives from a security perspective.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.
• Provide clear, practical cyber security advice and guidance.
• Support the delivery of secure digital projects and technology improvements.
