Job summary

Eastern Health in Melbourne is seeking a Health Information Manager / Clinical Coder to join a supportive Classification & Coding team. You will code diverse inpatient casemix and contribute to reporting, funding and service planning in a permanent hybrid role.

New graduates are encouraged to apply. You will have structured onboarding, ongoing education and senior guidance to maintain current coding knowledge and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent, or approved clinical coding qualification.
• Eligibility for full HIMAA membership as applicable to the role.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-AM classification standards and guidelines.
• Commitment to coding quality, ongoing learning and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Completing timely, comprehensive and accurate coding of inpatient episodes using current standards.
• Participating in coding quality assurance and education activities.
• Maintaining current knowledge of coding standards and reporting requirements.
• Collaborating with the team to meet service priorities and drive improvement.

Education

Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent
