Job summary

The NSW Electoral Commission’s Technology Group is seeking a hands-on Cloud Engineer to design, support and optimise its hybrid Azure environment, including security, identity, automation and Microsoft 365.

You will manage Azure IaaS and PaaS, landing zones, and tools like Azure DevOps, Defender and Sentinel, contributing to cloud migration and cost-efficient operations from our Elizabeth Street, Sydney office.

Qualifications

Strong, recent and hands-on Microsoft Azure experience.
Comfortable across Azure IaaS and PaaS, cloud networking and security, IaC, automation, identity management and Microsoft 365.
Experience with Azure Landing Zones, Azure Firewall, Private Endpoints, ExpressRoute, Sentinel, KQL, Azure Arc, Entra ID, Intune, Defender and Azure DevOps is highly relevant.

Responsibilities

Designing and supporting secure Azure and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
Supporting cloud migration and transformation initiatives.
Managing Azure compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring and security.
Working with Azure Landing Zones and secure cloud architecture.
Managing Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity, Conditional Access, PIM, RBAC and MFA.
Using PowerShell, Bicep/ARM and Infrastructure as Code.
Working with Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Microsoft Sentinel, KQL and Log Analytics.
Supporting Microsoft 365, Intune and Defender technologies.
Identifying opportunities to improve automation, security, performance and cost efficiency.
