Job summary

ACCIONA Energía seeks a skilled HV Technician for MacIntyre Wind Farm to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on BOP infrastructure, HV systems, and substations. You will work in a multi-skilled team ensuring reliability, safety, and performance across the site.

The role requires 3–5 years post-trade experience, HV system expertise, and the ability to travel between sites, with on-call duties to support 24/7 operations and strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Electrical trade qualification and Queensland A Grade Licence (or ability to obtain).
• 3–5 years post-trade experience.
• Experience with HV systems, substations or power generation assets.
• Current manual driver’s licence.
• Strong computer literacy including MS Office.
• Demonstrated commitment to health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Willingness to travel to other renewable energy sites as required.
• Current qualifications or ability to obtain: First Aid Level 2; Working at Heights; HV Operator accreditation under ACCIONA Energía Work Permitting System.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance across Balance of Plant assets.
• Conduct HV and substation inspections, maintenance, repairs and testing.
• Carry out HV switching operations and system manoeuvres.
• Support inspections, maintenance and repair of roads, drainage and civil infrastructure.
• Undertake wind turbine inspections and minor maintenance works as required.
• Monitor and supervise contractors to ensure safety and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records within maintenance and HSEQ systems, including Maximo.
• Participate in shutdown planning, project activities and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to a strong safety, environmental and quality culture on site.
• Participate in an on-call roster for a 24/7 operation.
• Comply with SOCI Act 2018 as a Privileged Access Worker responsibilities.

We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-focused High Voltage (HV) Technician to join the team at MacIntyre Wind Farm, one of Australia's largest renewable energy projects. Reporting to the Works Supervisor, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to the operation and maintenance of critical renewable energy infrastructure while supporting Australia's transition to a sustainable energy future.

Job Description

The HV Technician is responsible for undertaking preventative and corrective maintenance across the wind farm's Balance of Plant (BOP) infrastructure, including substations, high-voltage reticulation, communication networks, auxiliary systems, site services, roads, and civil infrastructure. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-skilled maintenance team, ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of the facility.

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities across BOP assets.
• Conduct HV and substation inspections, maintenance, repairs, and testing.
• Carry out HV switching operations and system manoeuvres.
• Support inspections, maintenance, and repair of roads, drainage, and civil infrastructure.
• Undertake wind turbine inspections and minor maintenance works as required.
• Monitor and supervise contractors to ensure work is completed safely and to the required standards.
• Maintain accurate records within maintenance and HSEQ management systems, including Maximo.
• Participate in shutdown planning, project activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to a strong safety, environmental, and quality culture across the site.
• Participate in an on-call roster supporting a 24/7 operational facility.
• In compliance with Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) Act 2018, this role is defined as a critical worker and labelled at ACCIONA Energia as a Privileged Access Worker (PAW) and must comply with all associated responsibilities.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Electrical trade qualification.
• Minimum 3-5 years of post-trade experience.
• QLD "A Grade" Electrical Licence, or the ability to obtain one, is highly regarded.
• Experience working with HV systems, substations, industrial facilities, or power generation assets.
• Current manual driver's licence.
• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Ability to travel to other renewable energy sites as required.
• Current qualifications, or the ability to obtain:
