Reporting to the National HSEQ Manager, you will act as a trusted advisor to operational leadership while ensuring the effective implementation and ongoing enhancement of a mature integrated management system.

About the Role

This is a highly visible business partnering role where success will be achieved through influence, coaching and stakeholder engagement rather than compliance alone.

Working closely with operational leaders across metropolitan and regional NSW, you will help embed safety, quality and risk management into everyday decision making, whilst supporting strategic business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with operational leaders to drive HSEQ performance across NSW
  • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of HSEQ management systems
  • Facilitate risk management, incident investigations and corrective action processes
  • Support injury management and workers compensation activities
  • Conduct audits and monitor compliance against internal and external requirements
  • Deliver training, coaching and awareness initiatives
  • Analyse performance trends and drive improvement activities
  • Support national projects and strategic HSEQ programs
  • Influence leaders to strengthen ownership, accountability and engagement in HSEQ outcomes
The Opportunity

The organisation has well established systems, nationally recognised certifications and strong reporting capabilities already in place. The key challenge will be building engagement and ownership across operational teams while driving consistent implementation and sustainable behavioural change.

You will play a key role in:

  • Strengthening leadership accountability for safety and risk management
  • Improving consistency across reporting, investigations and corrective actions
  • Enhancing management engagement and operational ownership
  • Supporting the rollout of a critical risk management framework
  • Building trusted relationships across all levels of the business
About You

We are interested in speaking with experienced HSEQ professionals who can demonstrate strong operational engagement and a practical approach to driving business outcomes.

You will ideally possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Quality or a related discipline
  • Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of safety, quality and injury management systems
  • Experience in risk management, incident investigation and auditing
  • Proven ability to influence, coach and engage operational leaders
  • Strong reporting, systems and analytical capability
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills

If you are a commercially minded HSEQ professional who enjoys partnering with operational leaders and driving meaningful improvement, we would welcome a confidential discussion.
