About the Role

We are partnering with a leading services provider to source a strong, people focused HSEQ Lead for a major village operation in South Australia.

In this position, you will lead a team of six HSE Advisors while working closely with senior operational leaders and client. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives in complex environments, enjoys coaching developing advisors, and wants the autonomy to shape safety performance and culture across a major remote operation.

This role combines strategic influence, operational coaching, stakeholder management, and hands on safety leadership, perfect for someone who wants to make a meaningful, long term impact.

Why You Want to Apply!
  • High-growth environment : Be part of a major expansion phase and influence safety standards across what is already a large operation.
  • Lead and develop a growing team : Mentor a young advisory group and set the benchmark for safety leadership across multiple remote operations.
  • Influential leadership role : Act as the central safety authority on site, managing relationships with a well‑known mining client and senior internal leaders.
  • Autonomy to lead your way : Enjoy significant decision‑making responsibility with strong support, but without micromanagement.
  • Clear development pathways : Access structured leadership programs, ongoing training and exposure to large‑scale operational environments.
  • Flexible working : FIFO ex Adelaide plus the option for one WFH built into the roster (also potential for a residential candidate).
Responsibilities
  • Provide on‑site leadership for the HSEQ function.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop a team of six HSE Advisors with varying levels of experience.
  • Lead major incident investigations and ensure reporting, reviews and corrective actions are completed accurately and on time.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with senior operational leaders and client side stakeholders.
  • Support operations in professional communication, client engagement and proactive risk management.
  • Review current performance and implement strategies to reduce food safety incidents and reportable injuries.
  • Drive 3 / 6 / 12‑month safety leadership objectives and contribute to ongoing cultural uplift across the site.
  • Manage key risk areas including food safety, driving, manual handling, slips / trips / falls, burns, lacerations and trade based risks.
To Succeed in This Role, You Will Need
  • Demonstrated leadership or management qualifications / experience.
  • WHS qualification — Diploma or Degree preferred, Cert IV WHS considered with leadership credentials.
  • Experience in people safety, exposure to food safety or hospitality is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage complex stakeholder environments with strong personalities.
  • Confidence to challenge operational practices constructively and maintain procedural discipline.
  • Investigations capability (ICAM) is desirable.
  • Strong communication, relationship building and coaching capability.
  • High levels of resilience, maturity, and autonomy.
  • Valid driver’s licence, full working rights, and ability to meet medical and compliance requirements.
