Job summary

BG&E, a civil and structural engineering consultancy now part of the SYSTRA Group, seeks a proactive WHS professional in Sydney to strengthen our HSEQ culture on major projects. You will coach teams, drive risk-based decision-making, and lead audits across ISO standards.

You will implement and maintain IMS, support incident investigations, and help deliver safe design and continuous improvement. A strong communicator with NSW WHS knowledge will thrive in our on-site environment, collaborating

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, OHS or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years' experience delivering engineering/construction projects with audits and quality controls.
• Knowledge of WHS/Environmental legislation and standards in NSW.
• White Card + Asbestos or Crystalline Silica Awareness certification.
• Current Apply (Senior) First Aid competency.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management across dispersed geographies.
• Hands-on experience with end-to-end management systems, audits, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Act as subject matter expert, coaching teams to foster a strong HSEQ culture.
• Drive continuous IMS improvement by identifying trends and reporting to Regional Leads.
• Assist project teams with Management Plans, Safety in Design, and risk workshops.
• Conduct internal audits, office inspections, and audits for ISO standards.
• Support incident investigations and track corrective actions.
• Maintain Emergency Response and Business Continuity Plans and safety registers.
• Design, maintain, and audit safety management systems and implement improvements.
