About the Company

About the Role

To support our business, we are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead our day-to-day HR function and drive effective people management across the business. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a key role in supporting leaders, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, and continuously improving HR processes and systems across our national operations to support our business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day HR services, offering supervisors, managers, and leaders the guidance and support they need to ensure people processes and systems effectively support the business.
  • Build and lead a small HR team.
  • Oversee end-to-end onboarding processes, including drafting employment contracts aligned with relevant Enterprise Agreements & Modern Awards.
  • Manage recruitment activities, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and supporting managers with candidate selection.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, employment databases, position descriptions, and organisational structure updates.
  • Manage key vendor relationships and support visa sponsorship processes, ensuring all requirements are met.
  • Provide practical support on industrial relations matters to ensure smooth and compliant workforce operations. Liaise with external HR/ER Adviser as needed.
  • Lead and contribute to HR and business improvement initiatives that support operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and upkeep of HR systems, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and industry standards.
  • Support and lead performance management processes, including coaching supervisors to effectively manage performance.
  • Manage the training framework.
About You and What You Bring
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • Experience in construction or industrial environments (highly regarded).
  • Minimum 8 years’ HR experience, including 5 years in a leadership role.
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage teams at all levels.
  • Proven capability managing multiple priorities and driving efficient HR processes with a high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of HRIS systems and a proven ability to drive process improvements, with a preference for experience in ELMO.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial instruments, and contemporary HR practices.
