Your Opportunity

Wattle House’s Housing Support Services provides individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless with supporting services to secure long‑term stable accommodation while addressing associated issues.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to referrals and conduct initial assessments of suitability for support.
  • Undertake formal face‑to‑face assessments using the approved assessment tool.
  • Develop a holistic case plan responsive to cultural strengths and identified needs to increase tenancy outcomes.
  • Maintain professional boundaries while building client capacity.
  • Provide intensive ongoing case management sessions and review progress against support plans.
  • Link clients to relevant support services addressing homelessness issues including AOD, FDV, health, education, employment, recreation and social networks.
  • Support referral and advocacy duties with other service providers and appointment setting.
Requirements for Success
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in relevant human or community services with at least three years’ experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of homelessness issues including alcohol and other drugs, family and domestic violence, unemployment and mental health.
  • Demonstrated case management experience including assessment, case work, accurate and timely recording of case notes, advocacy and referral.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and ability to network and build relationships with housing and community service providers and relevant government agencies.
  • Ability to work with a range of client cohorts, with a focus on clients experiencing family and domestic violence, substance misuse and mental health issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication.
  • Report writing and statistical collection skills.
  • Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite and other required systems.
  • Full driver licence with no restrictions.

Before starting work you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children and vulnerable people.
