  • Commitment to child safety and relevant employment clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the pastoral care, wellbeing and academic development of students within their House.
  • Build strong relationships with students and families through regular communication and case management.
  • Monitor student attendance, engagement, behaviour and academic progress.
  • Collaborate with Homeroom Teachers, Counsellors and College leaders to support student success.
  • Provide leadership in student wellbeing, behaviour support and personal development.
  • Coordinate and support House activities, assemblies, events and celebrations.
  • Support student leadership programs and election processes within the House.
  • Lead restorative conversations and support the resolution of student concerns and grievances.
  • Mentor and support Homeroom Teachers and early career teachers.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of pastoral care initiatives across the Campus.

Lead Student Wellbeing, Growth and Belonging

Cardijn College invites applications for aHouse Leader position at Marian Campus.

This significant leadership opportunity is suited to educators who are passionate about student wellbeing, pastoral care and academic growth. House Leaders play a vital role in fostering a strong sense of belonging, building positive relationships with families and supporting students to achieve their full potential.

Position would be considered across both Middle Years (Years 7–9) and Senior Years (Years 11–12). The successful applicant will work collaboratively with students, families, Homeroom Teachers, House teams and College leaders to support the holistic development of every student within their House.

About the Role

House Leaders hold a significant leadership position within the College and are responsible for the pastoral, academic, behavioural and spiritual development of students within their House. Through a strong case management approach, House Leaders monitor student engagement, wellbeing and progress, ensuring that every student receives the support, encouragement and guidance required to succeed.

The role requires visible leadership, proactive communication with families and close collaboration with teaching and wellbeing staff to create a positive and inclusive environment where students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Current Teacher Registration in South Australia.

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Experience in student wellbeing, pastoral care, mentoring or leadership roles will be highly regarded.
  • Commitment to maintaining all relevant child safety and employment clearances.
