Job summary

Crowne Plaza Melbourne Carlton seeks a part-time Maintenance Officer to keep the hotel safe, functional and well-presented. The role involves routine maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, with support for events and coordination with contractors.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll diagnose and repair a range of issues, maintain records, and collaborate with teams to ensure a seamless guest experience. Trade certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate (or equivalent) in maintenance or related field.
• Experience in hotel or hospitality maintenance preferred.
• Proficient with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and mechanical tasks.
• Able to use a variety of hand and power tools.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented with safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing and commissioning new hotel facilities.
• Perform routine maintenance across guest rooms and public areas.
• Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical issues.
• Conduct safety inspections and maintain records of tasks.
• Coordinate with contractors and assist in event setup.
• Maintain inventory of tools and supplies.
• Ensure guest comfort with timely repairs.
