Job summary

ARRCS Katherine is seeking an experienced Hospitality Worker – Kitchen Hand to join our team on a permanent, part-time basis. You will assist with meal preparation, distribution and cleaning in the Kitchen and also support cleaning and laundry across the facility.

Shifts are 7am–3pm on Week 1 (Mon/Wed) and Week 2 (Tue/Wed). The role suits someone who enjoys kitchen work and can work with minimal supervision while delivering friendly service to residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen environment with meal prep support.
• Comfortable cleaning all dishes and maintaining hygiene.
• Ability to commit to rostered shifts and understand impact on residents.
• Comfortable with rotating rosters and flexible to help with shifts.
• Ability to work independently and with the team.
• Commitment to genuine, friendly customer service.
• Positive, enthusiastic, can-do attitude.

About the role

ARRCS Rocky Ridge Nursing Home, located in Katherine Northern Territory are sourcing an experienced Hospitality Worker – Kitchen Hand to join their team on a permanent, part-time basis.

Shifts available for this role are Week 1 – Monday and Wednesday, and Week 2 and Tuesday and Wednesday working from 7am – 3pm.

This role is being offered at a penalty driven hourly rate of $30.86 – $33.24 / hour gross base depending on skills and experience plus salary packaging.

This role will primarily involve providing support in our kitchen, including meal preparation, distribution, and cleaning. However, when required, you will also assist with general cleaning and laundry tasks throughout the facility.

This role will suit someone who enjoys working within a kitchen environment and happy to support other operational areas within the facility when required. You will be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision. You will understand the importance of your role and the impact it has on our residents.

In addition to Kitchen Hand shifts you must also be comfortable and able to work in other auxiliary roles including general cleaning and laundry.

Visa Sponsorship is not available with this role.

Skills & experience

To be considered for this role, we will be looking at the following experience and qualifications:

• Demonstrates recent experience working in a commercia kitchen environment where you have helped cooks prepare for meals, and aware of HACCAP storage legislation.
• Comfortable to support kitchen operations which also includes cleaning of all dishes.
• Ability to commit to rostered shifts and understanding of the impact on our elderly residents when allocated shifts are not completed.
• Comfortable to support operations in rotating rosters
• Comfortable to support operations which other hospitality shifts when required which will include cleaning and laundry.
• Ability to work well independently as well as with other team members.
• A commitment to genuine, friendly customer service.
• A motivated, enthusiastic, and positive ‘can-do’ attitude.
