Job summary

Bupa Barrabool Belmont is seeking a Hospitality Service Assistant to support the care home’s hospitality function, including catering, cleaning and laundry. You will interact with residents with empathy, provide meals and snacks, and help maintain clean, safe living areas.

Previous catering or cleaning experience is appreciated but not essential; flexible shifts and teamwork are valued to support our residents in a caring environment.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Cleaning or catering experience preferred but not essential.
• Flexible availability for a variety of shifts throughout the week.
• Understand work health, safety and hygiene practices and the ability to work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Maintain legislated workplace health and safety, quality and hygiene standards.
• Complete required documentation and reporting.
• Respond to residents’ queries and requests.
• Laundry duties include loading washers and dryers, sorting linen, hanging, folding, wrapping or ironing linen.
• Catering / food services duties include assisting with basic food prep, providing meals and snacks, clearing dining areas and dishwashing.
• Cleaning duties include general cleaning; mopping, vacuuming, and waste collection in the residents’ rooms, bathrooms, communal and living areas.

Our Barrabool care home is a charming home set in a quiet location on the banks of the Barwon River in southern Victoria, 14kms from Geelong. It consists of 60 beds, with specialised dementia and respite care units. Our primary goal is placing our focus on the health, lifestyle and well-being of our residents. About the Role

To deliver effective support to the hospitality function within the care home, including catering, cleaning and laundry

Use your fantastic food services and cleaning skills in a role where you really can make a difference by providing our residents with an empathetic and personal approach.

About you

You will be a team player and someone who enjoys interacting with people and giving back to our most vulnerable.
