Job summary

Axiom College in Rockhampton, Queensland, seeks an experienced Hospitality, Retail and Cookery Trainer & Assessor to deliver high-quality vocational education on a part-time basis (4 days a week). You will conduct classroom and workplace training, assess student work to RTO standards, mentor learners, and maintain accurate records while supporting learner outcomes and completion rates.

Qualifications

• Hold a TAE40122 or TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent).
• Hold qualifications in Hospitality, Retail, Commercial Cookery or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of recent industry experience in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Customer Service, Retail Operations or Commercial Cookery.
• Experience in Commercial Cookery highly regarded but not essential.
• Current Police Check, Blue Card (or willingness to obtain) and other compliance checks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, interactive training sessions in Hospitality, Retail and Cookery qualifications.
• Conduct classroom-based and workplace training and assessment.
• Provide mentoring and tailored support to students.
• Assess student work in line with RTO standards and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain training records in line with compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with the training team to improve course delivery and outcomes.
• Stay current with industry developments, best practice, and regulatory changes.
