Job summary

Infinite Aged Care is seeking a hands‑on kitchen assistant to join our fast‑paced commercial kitchen at Ashmore Aged Care Home on the Gold Coast. You will assist with food prep, plating and meal service under the Chef Manager and Hotel Services Team to deliver high‑quality meals to residents.

The role requires 12 months of experience in hospitality or a commercial kitchen, plus a willingness to follow safety procedures and work across a variety of shifts to support residents’ daily dining

Qualifications

• 12 months of working experience in a sports club, RSL, bowls club, hotel or similar setting preferred.
• Hospitality or commercial kitchen experience or strong interest to develop skills.
• Students in Commercial Cookery seeking hands-on experience welcome.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food prep, plating and meal service in a commercial kitchen.
• Support dietary needs including texture‑modified and allergen-aware meals.
• Maintain high standards of kitchen and dining cleanliness.
• Set up and reset dining rooms and equipment for each service.
• Follow food safety and WHS procedures.
• Work as part of a supportive, fast moving team.

This role is a physical & fast paced with a lot of variety, you will do a lot of bending, squatting, lifting and pushing items to carry out your daily tasks safely. It is important you can perform these tasks without risk of injury to yourself, your colleagues and our residents.

About You

• A minimum of 12 months of working experience in a Sports Clubs or RSLs or Bowls Club or Hotel/Motel background or in a similar setting preferably
• Hospitality or commercial kitchen experience (or a strong interest in developing these skills).
• Students completing or planning Commercial Cookery studies who want to build practical, hands‑on skills that directly support their training.
• Strong communication, initiative, and attention to detail skills.
• Reliable, adaptable team players who thrive in a busy kitchen environment and have the availability to support a variety of shifts.

NOT suitable for candidates studying personal care or nursing, as training and development focus exclusively on commercial cookery and kitchen operations.
