Job summary

Mackay Base Hospital, part of Queensland Health, is seeking a Cook on a temporary basis to join their Food and Linen Services team.

You will provide a quality catering service through a Cook Fresh model, meeting FSANZ standards and the Queensland Health Nutrition Standards for Meals and Menus.

The role supports a 7-day service, producing hundreds of meals and mid-meals monthly, with emphasis on food safety and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide an effective and efficient food service while adhering to organisational standards, policies and procedures.
• Produce quality menu items for a variety of clients with attention to allergies and dietary requirements.
• Maintain high food safety standards in line with FSANZ and the Queensland Health Nutrition Standards for Meals and Menus.
• Support a 7-day week service with timely meal production and service within Mackay Base Hospital.
