Job summary

IMC is seeking an Equity Analyst with trader's instincts to join our Sydney desk. You will cover ~100 HK large- and mid-cap stocks, monitor news in real time, and help the trading team assess what matters and what’s priced in.

You will generate short-term ideas, work with options traders, and evaluate upcoming catalysts. Mandarin ability is a plus, and CFA is welcome; Bloomberg and Python experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as Equity Analyst in sell-side or buy-side.
• Ability to form clear, actionable views quickly with incomplete information.
• Demonstrated passion for markets and daily moves.
• Comfort in a fast-moving, high-pressure trading environment.
• Mandarin fluency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Cover a universe of around 100 large- and mid-cap stocks listed in Hong Kong.
• Monitor real-time news across coverage: corporate, industry, regulatory, policy and macro developments.
• Identify drivers of price and volatility; explain to the trading desk.
• Generate short-term trading ideas and work with options traders to execute them.
• Anticipate upcoming catalysts and help desk prepare before they happen.
• Build and maintain knowledge of stocks and peers for quick views when events hit.
