Job summary

Ampcontrol is seeking an experienced High Voltage Field Service Technician to join our Townsville Service team. In this field-based role, you will support customers across mining, utilities and infrastructure by delivering maintenance, testing, commissioning and fault-finding services on critical electrical assets.

This role offers opportunities to work on a diverse range of projects within a safety-focused organisation and to contribute to continuous improvement while traveling regionally.

Qualifications

• Experience in HV maintenance and testing environments.
• Experience with protection systems, transformers, switchgear and earthing systems.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of high voltage electrical equipment.
• Test and maintain protection systems, transformers, switchgear and earthing systems.
• Conduct inspections and monitoring of HV/LV metering and electrical safety equipment within switchyards and substations.
• Prepare detailed testing, commissioning and service reports.
• Identify customer requirements and provide technical advice on products and services.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support business process development.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Travel to customer sites across Queensland and occasionally interstate as required.
