Job summary

Northeast Auto Group is seeking a hands-on Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to diagnose faults, service and repair our heavy vehicle fleet in a secure, full-time Adelaide workshop. You’ll gain exposure to earthmoving machinery and heavy plant as needed and work to high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
• Proven experience working on heavy vehicles.
• Experience with earthmoving machinery or heavy plant is highly regarded.
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding skills.
• A safety‑first attitude and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Current driver’s licence (HR Licence advantageous).
• Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain our heavy vehicle fleet
• Carry out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs to minimise downtime
• Assist with servicing and repairs on earthmoving machinery and heavy plant when required
• Plan jobs and identify the parts and components needed to complete repairs efficiently
• Complete service records, job cards, and workshop documentation accurately
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop while working to company safety standards
