Job summary

Rio Tinto in Western Australia’s Pilbara region is seeking qualified Heavy Duty Fitters to join our safety‑focused Mobile Maintenance Team. You will perform planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance across our fleet of heavy mobile equipment, contributing to a safer, more efficient operation.

The role features an 8 days on / 6 days off roster (7 nights on, 7 nights off) with shifts rotating from Perth, Albany, Busselton, Broome or Geraldton.

Qualifications

• Heavy Duty Fitter or Plant Mechanic trade qualification.
• Experience maintaining/heavy mobile mining equipment.
• Australian C Class manual licence.
• Ability to work in Australia with full working rights.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of safety and comply with Rio Tinto policies.
• Perform planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance on heavy mobile equipment.
• Utilise SAP to record and track maintenance tasks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction.

What you’ll be bring

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor and working in a challenging and exciting environment within the Mobile Maintenance Team, you will :

• Maintain a high level of safety awareness and comply with all Rio Tinto Iron Ore Company Policies and procedures
• Conduct routine inspections of the digger fleet and determine repair action when required
• Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects - increasing safety whilst reducing risk & cost
• Utilise SAP to ensure that maintenance tasks are recorded, assigned correctly and completed to the relevant standard / specification

About you

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
• A Heavy Duty Fitter or Plant Mechanic trade qualification
• Experienced maintaining and servicing all Heavy Mobile Mining Equipment
• An Australian C Class manual drivers’ licence (or equivalent)
• Eligible to work in Australia with full working rights without requiring sponsorship
