Job summary

BMS Heavy Cranes Australia is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to service and maintain mobile cranes, heavy trucks and related equipment. You’ll diagnose complex faults, perform preventative maintenance, and support remote project sites with minimal supervision in a FIFO/DIDO context.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills on heavy diesel engines, electronic diagnostics, and AdBlue systems, with a valid driver’s licence and a willingness to work across remote locations.

Qualifications

• Relevant heavy diesel mechanical qualifications and industry experience.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across heavy diesel engines, mobile cranes and trucks.
• Experience with electronic diagnostics and engine management systems.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing AdBlue systems will be highly regarded.
• A current driver's licence; a heavy vehicle licence will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and engine management faults on mobile cranes and heavy diesel trucks.
• Carry out servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on heavy mobile equipment.
• Identify and rectify complex faults efficiently to minimise equipment downtime.
• Diagnose and repair emissions systems, including AdBlue / SCR systems.
• Complete maintenance records, service reports and relevant job documentation.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship and ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with procedures.
• Work independently in remote areas and on project sites, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver results with minimal supervision.
