Job summary

Ventura Bus Lines in Melbourne is seeking a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic for the Ivanhoe Workshop. You will maintain a diverse fleet, including modern electric bus technology, and contribute to safe, reliable public transport for thousands of passengers daily.

Working in a supportive workshop, you will perform routine servicing, diagnostics, safety checks, and roadworthy preparations while applying strict safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Heavy Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic.
• Experience maintaining heavy vehicles, buses, trucks or similar equipment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current driver's licence.
• HR licence desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and scheduled maintenance
• Preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults
• Conducting safety checks and defect rectification
• Brake, suspension and driveline repairs
• Roadworthy preparation and compliance activities
• Completing maintenance records and documentation
• Working collaboratively with fellow tradespeople and workshop staff
