Job summary

Our client seeks an experienced Health, Safety & Environment Manager to take ownership of HSE across a diverse national portfolio of office, retail and industrial assets. You will develop and drive HSE systems, governance and proactive safety culture while engaging stakeholders across sites and operations.

Reporting to Asset Management leadership, you will visit sites, implement practical safety outcomes, and partner with People & Culture to embed accountability and continuous improvement across

Qualifications

• 10+ years' experience in HSE, WHS, environmental or risk management.
• Tertiary qualification in WHS, Environmental Management, Risk Management or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of WHS/OHS legislation and compliance.
• Experience implementing HSE systems aligned to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Experience conducting investigations, audits and risk assessments.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to influence operational and cultural change.
• Experience within property, facilities, asset management or related operational environment.
• Experience with MRI, Core Vision or similar systems.
• A valid Agents Representative Certificate or Estate Agent’s Licence.
• A current Driver’s Licence.
• Fire Warden and/or First Aid experience will be highly regarded.

About the Role

This is a newly created, national role offering the opportunity to take ownership of HSE across a diverse portfolio of office, retail and industrial assets.

Reporting into senior Asset Management leadership and partnering closely with People & Culture, you will be responsible for strengthening HSE systems, governance and processes while driving a proactive safety culture across the portfolio. You’ll work with stakeholders nationally, including internal teams, clients, contractors and tenants.

This is not a role for someone who wants to operate purely at a strategic level. You’ll be visible across the portfolio, regularly visiting sites, engaging with operational teams and helping turn HSE strategy into practical, effective outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include

About You

You’ll be an experienced, pragmatic and commercially minded HSE professional who knows how to influence without authority.

With no direct reports, your success will come from your ability to build credibility, bring stakeholders on the journey and confidently challenge existing practices when required. You will be calm and collaborative in your approach while still being prepared to roll up your sleeves and take ownership.

Ideally, you will bring

• 10+ years' experience within HSE, WHS, environmental or risk management
• A relevant tertiary qualification, diploma or certificate in WHS, Environmental Management, Risk Management or a related discipline
• Strong working knowledge of WHS/OHS legislation and compliance
• Experience implementing and managing HSE systems aligned to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, or comparable frameworks
• Demonstrated experience conducting investigations, audits and risk assessmentsExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• The confidence to influence operational and cultural change
• Experience within property, facilities, asset management or a related operational environment
• Experience with MRI, Core Vision or similar systems
• A valid Agents Representative Certificate or Estate Agent’s Licence
