Job summary

Charles Sturt University Melbourne is seeking an Academic Manager for Health postgraduate programs. This part-time 0.6 FTE role will deliver high-quality teaching, provide academic leadership, and support students and staff across Health courses at the Melbourne campus.

You will foster an inclusive, industry-relevant learning environment, coordinate course delivery, and engage with industry and professional bodies to keep programs current.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent doctoral qualification in Health, Health Management, Public Health, or a related discipline with demonstrated university teaching experience.
• A minimum of five years’ relevant professional or industry experience in Health or related fields, integrating contemporary knowledge into teaching.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver and assess high quality student learning with engagement and contemporary teaching practices.
• Academic leadership capability in a complex environment with independent and collaborative work.
• Experience supporting diverse, inclusive education including First Nations students.
• Knowledge of health curriculum, assessments, quality assurance, and contemporary teaching methods.

Responsibilities

• Create an inclusive, diverse, and culturally safe learning environment for Health students.
• Deliver high-quality, student-centred teaching across health postgraduate programs using varied methods.
• Lead and enhance teaching practices by reflecting on delivery and incorporating feedback.
• Provide academic leadership and oversight of course and subject delivery and alignment with standards.
• Provide mentoring and ongoing support to students on study strategies and progression.
• Recruit, induct, and support new Health teaching staff and foster collaboration.
