Job summary

ARPANSA is seeking a Science Officer in Health Physics Measurements to perform gamma-ray spectrometry using HPGe and NaI detectors and to contribute to the CTBT Radionuclide Laboratory operations in Australia. Responsibilities

• Perform complex gamma-ray spectrometry analysis and reporting using High-Purity Germanium (HPGe) and Sodium Iodide (NaI) systems.
• Provide training and coordination tasks to support and maintain operations and quality systems in the CTBT Radionuclide Laboratory (CRL).
• Deliver excellent customer service for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO).
• Measure radioactivity in environmental samples and conduct radiological surveillance of the Australian environment.
• Contribute to the implementation of quality assurance programs based on ISO 17025, including maintenance of records and preparation of technical reports.
