Job summary

Bupa Medical Visa Services is expanding its network of centres and seeks experienced pathology collectors to support visa medical assessments in Sydney. Work hours run 8am–6pm on weekdays with peak-season extended hours and weekend coverage as needed.

Roles are casual in nature, providing sick and annual leave cover. You will report to the Senior Health Assessor and contribute to a high-quality customer experience for visa applicants.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Pathology or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience at a NATA accredited service provider is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality health assessments for visa applicants.
• Conduct identity checks, vitals, vision testing and venepuncture.
• Ensure timely and accurate service through the medical assessment process.
• Document results in the eHealth record.

The purpose of this role

As part of our commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, we're growing our network of Visa Medical Assessment Centres so we can provide a Bupa experience for our visa applicants in the communities where they live. This has created a range of frontline and leadership roles in new purpose-built medical centres and opportunities to grow your career with a global health care brand where our customers are at the heart of everything we do.

We're looking for:

Experienced pathology collectors, with a minimum of 6 months experience in high volume venepuncture collections. Shifts available on a rotational roster, with typical centre hours from 8am-6pm Monday to Friday. During peak seasons, we open 7am-7pm Monday to Friday and weekends from 8am to 4pm during peak seasons

• The casual opportunity – is a true casual role, available to cover sick and annual leave cover.

What you'll need to make it possible

Reporting to and supported by the Senior Health Assessor, Pathology Collectors/Health Assessors will be responsible for providing quality health assessments to customers undertaking a medical assessment as part of their visa application process.

The role includes:

• Identity checks, blood pressure, height, weight, body mass index, vision testing, urinalysis, and venepuncture
• Facilitate smooth delivery of the applicants through the medical assessment to ensure a timely and accurate service
• Adhere to clinical governance and associated policies and procedures
• Accurate documentation of results in eHealth record

What you'll need to make it possible

• Certificate III or IV in Pathology or 2+ years' experience at a NATA accredited service provider
• Fast paced phlebotomy experience essential
• Paediatric collection experience desirable but not essential
• Experience working with people of multi-cultural background
• Excellent customer service skills
