Job summary

Vet Finders in Tasmania is seeking an experienced Head Nurse to lead a brand-new veterinary hospital. This hands-on leadership role requires mentoring a nursing team, supporting the veterinarians, and ensuring theatre readiness with a focus on small animal care.

The position offers a private practice environment where your input shapes patient care and clinic operations. Youll enjoy working Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, with Saturday mornings on a shared roster and no after-hours.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership of a nursing team in a veterinary setting.
• Mentor and support other nurses to deliver high-quality care.
• Strong clinical nursing skills with a focus on surgical/anaesthesia duties.

They are now entering an exciting chapter in their journey, having recently moved into a purpose-built, state-of-the-art practice equipped with all the toys you'd expect from a progressive practice, and are looking to recruit an experienced Head Nurse to join their growing team.

This is a hands-on leadership role where your experience, positivity and sense of humour will be just as important as your clinical skills.

you'll be the person who somehow manages to keep all the plates spinning (without ever looking flustered!). You will be the go-to for the nursing team, a trusted sounding board for the vets and the reassuring presence that helps everything run that little bit smoother.

One minute you'll be mentoring a newly qualified nurse, the next you'll be supporting a more complex case or making sure theatre is ready for whatever the day throws at you. If you enjoy helping people grow, leading by example and being part of a genuinely supportive team, you'll fit right in.

With plans already underway to open a second clinic within the next 6-12 months, there will be genuine opportunities for career progression as the business continues to expand.
