Rouse Hill High School is a comprehensive High School with 1240 students and a teaching staff of 96. In 2027, in addition to our mainstream, the school will have one autism class and two support classes. Stage six students study the Higher School Certificate using the compressed curriculum model. The school has a focus on collaborative practice to improve teaching practice and student outcomes. The school is supported by small but active P&C. Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria, Approval to teach students and/or demonstrated successful experience with Behaviour Difficulties or Emotional Disturbance or Mild or Moderate Intellectual Disability or Autism. Proven capacity to build staff capability in the development, implementation and review of individualised learning, behaviour, wellbeing and transition plans, with a strong understanding of Life Skills curriculum and evidence-based practices for students with disability, while maintaining high expectations and promoting positive student outcomes. Capacity to establish and resource inclusive learning environments, including planning and implementing accessible educational spaces that are age appropriate and meet the diverse learning, wellbeing and support needs of students with disability.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
