Job summary

Sydney Secondary College Balmain Campus in the Sydney Region invites applications for Head Teacher Special Education. You will lead the Support Unit of 3 classes for autism, oversee inclusive education across the middle school, and collaborate with wellbeing and learning support teams to enhance student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Approval to teach Special Education and/or demonstrated experience leading a faculty that meets student needs (including autism).
• Ability to supervise staff and build a cohesive inclusive education team across multiple campuses.
• Strong understanding of the new curriculum including skills in programming for outcomes and life skills.
• Experience developing and reviewing individualised education plans and behaviour/risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Head Teacher Learning Support and manage the 3-class Support Unit for autism.
• Develop, implement and review individualised education plans and transition programs.
• Collaborate with wellbeing and staff to promote inclusive education across the college.
• Manage resources and support staff across campuses to ensure effective teaching and learning.
